What a Clever and Creative Lot

It's been 6 weeks since I last attended to my blog. That doesn't mean I've had nothing to say, it's just that I prefer to have a chin-wag down the pub, the club, on the street, anywhere in the Port really.

Well tonight is the opening of SALA, the REAL community arts festival. I love the fact that anyone can be involved and that it's happening everywhere.

In the Port there are so many clever and creative people showing their work over the next few weeks. If we all get out there and applaud them for contributing to a creative Port, we each get to see and be proud of the talent we live amongst as well as a second bonus of meeting other people in our community to chat with.

Tonight I'll be at the openings of the Gallerypt, Lobert and Yampu Galleries and also at the British Hotel exhibition opening. Then tomorrow at the Railway Hotel to see the opening of the Black & White as I try hard to get around and see the 28 local exhibitions in the SALA program published by Council.

I have to go and get spruced up now because the Premier will be at one of those openings and it's now nearly half past 5 but, before I do,  Aunty Pearl and Granny Glad want me to let you know that they are working on a new Spring yarnbombing project for the Port. No more beanies and scarves, now it's flowers and birds! And they want to encourage all you clever crafties to get involved.

You can email Aunty Pearl and Granny Glad through my FB page or pop in to SohoHomewares on Lipson St and talk with Amanda.

Apparently they might even be running classes, so don't be afraid - get involved!

I was going through the Suggestion Box again the other day and want to put forward a few ideas to the Premier tonight. Wish me luck!
